I hear your heart, my love
you said it beats for me
my ear rests on a stethoscope,
the kind that's warm
and soft and may expand
protruding on demand,
at times it probes, a perfect fit,
(yes dear I will not call it tit) ,
into the auditory one,
externally of course,
but does it ever (!) send to me,
by way of cranial number eight
a whisper caused when stem,
which here is actually a gem
fits into quarters meant to welcome air,
it is like hearing a balloon
when being rubbed a bit.

So here you have a gadget meant to give
a life-sustaining liquid to a child,
and quite content to penetrate and share
tight space with air and handfuls of soft hair.
I listened carefully for murmurs and the like,
the heart determines in the end how long you live
there was a single stumble, pseudo PVC
I think the nipple had slipped out right then,
back in, the sound improved but all too soon,
we stirred, you first, I know and things turned very wild.
