Herbert Nehrlich - The Deceiver

Though known to be a trifle nutty
he looked and smelled like sillyputty.
A colleague diagnosed him manic
and thought he'd sink like the Titanic.

Poseidon, though, would not accept
a rather angry and inept
a two-faced, puny, pimply lad.
who seemed so lost, and also mad.

He often mingled with the best
in hopes of thus becoming blessed.
It failed, of course, his strategy
and dumped him into misery.

Not one of those would listen now
or ask him questions on the how
and when or if of little things.
Two-faced deceivers don't have wings.
