Herbert Nehrlich - Not A Poem

A panel of doctors was asked
to vote on adding a new wing
to their hospital.
Here is what happened:

Allergists scratched it
Dermatologists advised no rash moves.
Gastroenterologists had a gut feeling about it,
Neurologists lost their nerve
Obstetricians labored under this obvious misconception
Ophthalmologists considered it short-sighted
Pathologists yelled, 'Over my dead body! ',
Paediatricians said 'grow up',
Psychiatrists considered the idea madness,
Surgeons washed their hands of the whole thing,
Radiologists could see right through it
Internists thought it a bitter pill to swallow,
Plastic Surgeons felt it would put a new face on the matter,
Podiatrists considered it a step forward,
Urologists didn't think the scheme would hold water,
Anaesthetists thought the idea was a gas,
Cardiologists didn't have the heart to say No.......
And, in the end, the Proctologists left
the decision up to some asshole.
