Herbert Nehrlich - Luscious Peaches

I thought when I read 'Luscious'
that there would be some blushes
but then, in easy reach
there hung a luscious peach.
I tried to jump and pluck it
to hold it and to suck it,
I love its fruity juice
alas, it was no use,
this treasure, oh so high
was destined for a pie.
So with my inborn patience
I knew that those sensations
would wait for me until
I would receive my fill
and have the pie with cream
while watching that sweet gleam
in those exquisite eyes......
I love those peachy pies.!
