Herbert Nehrlich - Bush Wisdom

A bushman from the jungles of Zimbabwe
revealed a secret of a highly precious nature.
He told me, at the time the bell has tolled,
the lion whispers these profound and pregnant words:
'It's quite alright, my dear, it's quite alright! '
His jaws then shut with rather merciless aplomb.
And, quite secure in the belief of his compassion,
he lives another day to hunt anew tomorrow.
And no one asks unlucky Miss Gazelle
just how she feels about her dinner invitation.
