Herbert Nehrlich - A Reminder, Folks!

A puzzle, poets, just for you
blond hair and pretty, eyes deep blue.
At present stacking firewood
as any Northern woman should.
Was briefly thinking of the dwindling
small branches used for daily kindling,
and in a pinch she does have stacks
of Lulu pages, so relax!
The winds do blow on the prairie
it's best inside the house to be
and read those poems, (some do rhyme)
what better way to spend your time?
In case you haven't figured out
what this small puzzle is about,
you must be satisfied forever
that you are not extremely clever.
But not to worry, close your eyes
and think of cakes and fruit mince pies,
they serve these morsels on Thanksgiving
and for those special days that living
and aging folks do celebrate
it's Mary's birthday, get it Mate?
