The song of endless nights,
Of the unity of desert,
Of the preternatural hush
And the silent scentlessness of death.

Do you recall the day the clouds spat ash,
To embalm the surface of the world?
The earth turned inside-out, wearing fire on the outside
And was cold within.

The day after words failed,
And the grey wings of an angel
Obscured the sun.
