hema thasapalan - My Reflections on Water

they say our body is 70% water
just like earth,
that means....
the still, clear water reflects
the clarity and pureness of everything
a turbulent water
reflects the turmoil in our thoughts
a rising tsunami, to wash away
The helpless earth
crying....
for mercy, for understanding…
for humans to realize - lust, greed, anger, war
gets them nowhere, but to pain and misery
Clean of the ignorance, war, suffering of the few
- ease the rebuilding, renewal of ideals
The final ones that are left, to pick up the pieces;
Will they learn from the water?
Will they calm their minds? and allow the water to remain still?
Or will they fall into a trap, of their own making?
