Starting September 19 through September 25, families can join in the fight against hunger by treating themselves to a dinner out at a local restaurant. Across the country – AND IN YOUR AREA – thousands of restaurants are taking part in Share Our Strength’s Great American Dine Out®. People across the country are encouraged to “dine out” at participating restaurants to support the cause. Food Network star Aaron McCargo Jr., host of Big Daddy’s House is lending his support. McCargo was the winner of the 2008 season of Next Food Network Star, but he grew up in a tough part of New Jersey and he knew hunger. But through his passion for cooking and his entrepreneurial spirit, he has built an amazing life for his family – his wife and three children – and the countless youths he helps through his own non-profit efforts in his hometown of Camden. Aaron McCargo, Jr shares details about Share Our Strength’s Great American Dine Out, how your can find local participating restaurants, and even a recipe demonstration for a restaurant-worthy meal to enjoy right in your own home. He will also talk about his personal history, his efforts to help the people in his community who need it most, and the cause of childhood hunger. Aaron McCargo, Jr. won Season Four of The Next Food Network Star in 2008, beating out thousands of culinary hopefuls for the ultimate dream job – his own Food Network show. His show Big Daddy’s House premiered on August 3, 2008 and continues to run successfully. Aaron has been on The Today Show, Regis and Kelly, and Rachael Ray. His rise to fame has been covered everywhere from The New York Times, to Essence Magazine. Aaron donates his time to nonprofits likes Share Our Strength and their Great American Dine Out to help end childhood hunger.
