Heavy rain in Mumbai

Heavy showers did not dampen the spirits of devotees who came to the city's sea fronts on Sunday—the third day of immersion of Ganpati idols.Due to the rain and the threat posed by stingrays, lifeguards and BMC volunteers urged devotees at all immersion spots not to venture deep into the sea. More than 400 life guards have been deployed at various city beaches for immersions.
