Heather Stephens - A painted smile

A painted smile
is what you see
it might keep you happy
but its not for me,

I dont know why
I do this for you
even though my eyes are swollen and red
you still dont have a small, little clue

you just go on every day like always
ignoring everything I ever do
you dont care about me
all you care about is selfish, stuborn you

you see other pretty, younger girls
behind my back
then come back to me
to pick up all your slack

even though you always leave
even though you cheat
every time you come around me
I have a different pacing heartbeat

I love you then I don't
I am so very very confused
I really want to tell you
but I dont know if this is good or bad news

what I have
is a little painted smile
it might look and feel happy
but I never want to go with you down the isle
