Can the light shine down from the heavens?
Could it sooth the pain of living in this dark place?
Is it only there to make us suffer?
Knowing that it's just out of reach?
Would it look down on us with pity?
Or sneer on in spite?
For what sins has it decided our fate?
Should it ever welcome this putrid soul in its gates?
