Description
75 % of households' energy consumption is used for heating. The main reason is bad insulation, which can be measured with thermographic cameras. But these are still very expansive, eg 10000 € for a camera with a real resolution of 160 x 120 px and a frame rate of 20 fps. After thay enhanced the idea of using a pyrometer's sensor, measure single points and stitch them together to an image. To keep oscillations at a minimum, we rotate infrared mirrors (pieces of a cake lifter -- it just needs to be polished metal!) in front of the sensor instead of panning and tilting the sensor itself. This video shows the results and further improvement and modification ideas. Our prototype costs around 100 €, has a real resolution of 80 x 80 px at a frame rate of 1 fpmin.
