ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi on Tuesday categorically stated that former premier Nawaz Sharif’s statement about alleged Pakistan’s role in the November 2008 Mumbai attacks was misreported by the Indian media to achieve its ends.

Speaking on the floor of the National Assembly, the premier said: “The Indian media misreported the interview to achieve its motives, but unfortunately we fanned their propaganda.”

He dispelled an impression that those who were involved in the Mumbai attacks were deliberately sent to India from Pakistan. “There is no truth in these assertions attributed to Mr. Sharif.”
