Description

I forgot, these promises I made
To my false deity
The God of all things saved
I prayed, to the empty space
A hole in heaven to fill his place
A rouse, a story taller than my own
Broken in pieces
Passed throughout humanity
Saved
Are we saved
Cause we prayed
And didn't really mean it
My confessional was lies
But I promised you my life
I lied
I told you I would be quite nice
I lied
I said I'd live wholesome and true
Devote my whole world to you
Be pure
Remorseful and demure
Sheltered and giving and caring and pleasing
I lied
You will never take my life
False deity I used to like
A man
Just a lowly normal man
With an ego and a pen
To rid the world of men
With their battles
And their troubles
Their sword brandished
Polished by their women
I lied
You have never stood by my side
False deity I cried
In the emptiness I hide

Just a man with an ego and a pen
Thousands upon thousands
Of idiotic beliefs
Of a God who never saves the meek
Gives you virgins while you sleep
A table laden with great feasts
Fluffy clouds
Pearly gates
Its not a real place
Your mistake
At liberty
Ruin your life for me
Theres no such thing as charity
Just a book and some scripts
Sins brushed under a pulpit
Dissolved in the wine
Burning in time
False deity

How could you save me?
