Social media has certainly improved our ability to communicate and share ideas about world events as they unfold. In the past, we've only been able to see world events by way of mainstream media or lucky connections with family and/or friends who live in the area where the news is breaking.

Today, we can instantly communicate and express our take on world events to a larger audience from all points around the world. While this may or may not have changed our individual opinions on these events, it has certainly allowed us to see things from a different vantage point.
