Harvard's Students on SNAP

Harvard University organized an event to support graduate students enrolling in government food assistance programs, particularly SNAP benefits. Despite its substantial $53 billion endowment, Harvard's Health Services office encouraged graduate students to participate in the SNAP Benefits Sign-Up event, aiming to provide aid for their food and grocery expenses. The Harvard Graduate Students Union expressed the need for increased salaries for graduate student workers, proposing a minimum annual salary of $60,000, higher than the current $40,000. The high cost of living in Boston adds to the financial struggles, and the university's attempt to assist through SNAP is criticized as insufficient.
