a nagging unresolved feeling
that i can do better
be more than i am
i feel like i'm plodding
trudging thru thick mud
rather than flowing

i've been better than this
i'm held back by my brain
like i have a bad mental sprain

i'm like a young dog on a short leash
straining to run free
hindered, hating the chain
all life seems frustration
will i thrive - again?

without Me you can do nothing
a reminder from a wise king
now if i can follow that simple advice
perhaps i'll yet sing
