Description

In a thunder of emotions we met
In orange violet twilight, after the sunset

As the moon on one horizon confronted the sun on the other
We both, enfeebled with our oppressed hearts, approached each other

The clouds called with a sudden roar, I looked up and prayed
Asking for a genuine companion, it was the time my fate be swayed

The lightning shone and you hove into view
With a smile, more gentle and embracing than I ever knew

Stranger you were to me but more than the known you cared
How were your eyes so benign, wondering I stood and stared

While I pondered if you felt as I, you trod forth with aplomb
Softly slid your fingers into mine, then escorted me to home

In the thrust of piercing winds, anew I felt warm
As I strolled safe and secure by the side of your arm

With a semblance of insouciance I walked up that mile
More than the lifetime, I lived that awhile

Reaching my door, with a thudding heart to you I turned
With ineffable feelings as you bade me goodbye, your fingertips burned

Then you pressed my hand and with vows of return you left
Ever since then, pressed to my heart, your memories I have kept
