Colt works every afternoon.
He rides bulls
most Saturdays.

When he isn’t doin’ that
he is most generally helpin’
Mr Stricker sort calves or fix fence.

When he isn’t doin’ that
he’s writin’ a history paper
on the Magna Carta.

Which leaves exactly zero time
to spend with Laura,
or near enough.

He reckons work comes first.
Dang it.
