Hannah Moir - Since the day you left

Day by day, time passes, and I'm not sure which leaf blows where.
The sweet scent of Candytuft flowers, is roaming around the air.
The seeds from Sycamore trees are flying, then polluting the ground,
The White-throated sparrow is singing, why do I hear no sound.

Is it because since the day you left nothing has been the same?
I can't hear people talking, but I can hear the patter of rain.
I can't see names or places, but I can see the hiding fairies.
I can't smell food or perfume, but I can smell flowers and berries.

I can feel the whole world spinning, and me just sitting in place,
I can sense the whoosh of people running, but I can't see the race.
I can hear the sound of footsteps, but when I turn, you're not there.
And every time I think of you, my heart begins to tear.

I can feel the tears down your cheek, but I can't wipe them away.
I can read your name that you wrote on my heart, where forever it will stay.
