I can’t picture his empty house
I can’t picture his house at all
I’ve never been there
But I imagine it as blue and white
A loving, happy family
But I’ve never met his family
Other than his little sister
Only twice, I made his phone ring
Empty
I can’t picture him leaving his life behind
As I don’t even know what his life is like
The only Alex I know
Shares a week with me in the summer
And for that week
Our lives are in sync
And our other lives are left behind
Empty
I can’t picture him scared
I’ve only known him as courageous
And daring
And everything I’d like to be
I can’t picture him hurt
And I don’t want to
Empty
Oh Rita, why can’t you leave him alone?
Nobody wants you around anyway
