Hal Caufield - The Impasse
5 Views • Jun 16, 2014
Description
That even if I were to become
The master of all I survey,
I would have nothing,
If I do not have her heart.
So on weekends, I roam this lonesome hall
Praying on the Magic “8” Ball
She keeps upon her desk,
That this cursed impasse
Can be overcome;
That a beautiful unbending force like her
Can be moved
By an old unwavering object like me;
That she will understand that if she were
But to let go and give me her heart,
We will have won.
Our world will be one
Large flowering cherry blossom.
And when all is said and done
That is where true happiness lies.
