H. Fitzgerald Durbin - What Then?

Two chickens met in the barnyard-A Rooster and a hen.
And that's the way it has been-Since the world began.
The argument has been strong-almost as a plague.
This argument about which came first-the chicken or the egg. But this argument seems so foolish-if horse sense we apply.
It's simple when we think of it-and I'll tell you the reason why.
For if the egg had been first-there would be no chick today.
For man in his greed and gluttony-would have eaten it right away.
