Guy Carter - Awakening

Awakening, it takes a revolution to throw me out of bed.
Even with slumber disposed of the days a sunny lethargy
A thoughtless meditation, a devolved mind, everything’s nothing-
until I sleep, when heavy, cloudless skies sink beneath a burning horizon.
Any excitement seems like a laugh, a token chuckle,
a relaxed smile on the slothful face of a summer sun.
