Seit der Veröffentlichung ihres gefeierten Debütalbums In My Head im Jahr 2016 haben die Berliner Mittzwanzigerinnen und besten Freundinnen Laura Lee und Andreya Casablanca die Welt im Sturm erobert. Mit ihrer wilden "In Your Face"-Rock'n'Roll-Liveshow begeisterten Gurr schon beim Eurosonic, SXSW oder The Great Escape und spielten ausverkaufte Konzerte im UK und Deutschland sowie auf Festivals wie Dot2Dot, Latitude und Dockville. Anfang 2017 wurde die Band u.a. von BBC Radio One-Moderator Huw Stephens und Stereogum-Chefredakteur Scott Lapatine gehyped: Gurr wurden in die Maida Vale Studios nach London eingeladen um eine Session für BBC Radio One aufzunehmen und schafften es in Stereogums Top 10 Songs des Jahres 2016.

Gurr arbeiten zur Zeit an ihrem neuen Album, welches vom ehemaligen Friends-Gitarristen Matthew Molnar (Sunflower Bean) produziert wird. Mit ihrem "First Wave Gurrlcore" wir die Band 2018 auf vielen Festivals unterwegs sein.

Gurr is a garagepop band from Berlin that sounds like a trashy 60s girl group meshed with poppy vocals in two voices and a flavor of eeriness dug out from the deep darkness that is the Berlin rocknroll bar's restroom at 5 am.
