Gumede is charged with corruption

The ANC has been criticised for swearing Zandile Gumede in, as a member of the Kwazulu-Natal provincial legislature. The former eThekwini mayor’s redeployment comes despite her facing charges of fraud and corruption. Gumede says the media has not questioned her being the councilor for ward 48 in Phoenix. She says she sees nothing wrong with being deployed to serve ‘the people’.
