Gulliver Gimble - When Two Hearts Collide

Cupid has a funny sense of humor.
Shooting arrows after hearing rumors.
That two people sometimes seem alike.
Loving companions on a lonely night.

In the beginning, everything seems bliss.
The waiting hours for a single short kiss.
A need to be close and never far away.
A need to be loved each passing day.

Long talks on the phone well past midnight.
Longer walks in the day never out of sight.
The movies, the dinners and family as well.
Both finding a place where hearts will swell.

After awhile when the excitement has passed.
And it tends to be moving just a little too fast.
Smothered by the hour and needing space.
Hearts will go looking for some other place.

It is in these times that we tend to go away.
The one standing next to you always stays.
It is new and very refreshing to say the least.
To have freedom again and a moment of peace.

I should know, I have seen this a few times myself.
When you feel like your putting yourself on a shelf.
But, I always felt better knowing I was free.
It is painful at first but, in time you will see.

What we don’t want today, maybe tomorrow.
Oh how this can be a bitter pill to swallow.
But, take your time, take your time tonight.
This to will pass, when two hearts collide.
