Gubernatorial posts for BJP's veterans

Moves are afoot within the BJP to find a suitable post for party veteran Murli Manohar Joshi. According to sources, the former BJP chief is likely to be made a Governor of an important state.

Sources in the party said that senior party leaders like Kailash Joshi, Kalyan Singh, Lalji Tandon and V K Malhotra, too, are likely to find a gubernatorial berth.

Joshi's appointment as a governor will end the uncertainty about the fate of the BJP octagenarian who did not find a place in the Modi Cabinet, falling victim to the unwritten rule laid down by Modi as well as RSS that no leader who is 75-plus will be accommodated in the Cabinet.
