Harold Jarvis (full name Harold Augustus Jarvis) lived from 1864 to 1924.

The tenor was born on December 27, 1864, in Toronto, Canada.

He began his professional life as a sailor, reaching the rank of officer with the Peninsular and Oriental Steam Navigation Company and also served in the Royal Naval Reserve.

After studying music and starting a musical career doing concert work, he settled in Detroit in 1891 as tenor soloist at the First Presbyterian Church.

In 1892 he married the singer Laura Geikie of Toronto and continued his concert activity.

He made recordings for Victor, Columbia, and Edison.

He died on April 1, 1924, in Detroit.
