Again, I’m humbled
By the vagaries
Of life
The agonies
Wrapped in the heartbreak
That failed love is

I’m distraught by
The cynicism
Of friends,
Whose shoulders
I’m offered
To lean on

Ah, I’m awed by
Futility
Of wealth,
And the vainness
Of ego

I’m convinced of
The limitations of self
And the might
Of the Almighty
