GREENWOLFE 1962 - The Star
8 Views • Nov 08, 2014
Description
And though I'm far away,
It won't be too much longer
Till I'm in their array.
I've paid my dues to join them.
And now I have a place
Reserved among the starlets
Who yearn to see my face.
I've dreamed of this forever,
Enduring sleepless nights.
And wished the stars of Heaven,
Would all be guiding lights.
If I had come in daytime,
The sun might block their view.
That's why I come in nighttime,
So they might see me too.
I surely love the nighttime.
The dark I've never feared.
You should have heard the shouting
The night I first appeared.
Yes, I see them clearly now,
They're looking out to see.
I'm the one they're waiting for.
I guess they've heard of me.
Well, now I'm here before them.
They kneel before my face.
The time has come to judge them,
This sinful human race.
