Grace Tan - Our Choice

It’s a crazy world out there.
There’s giant Yeti, killer sharks,
Carnivorous plants,
Deadly insects- like the African ants that eats everything in their way,
Gnashing piranhas,
And don’t forget yet, the T-rex. (which is taller than your HDB flat, trust me)

It’s a dangerous place and venturing out may just be an invitation card to death.
With our pollution, we’re killing ourselves everyday.
Just take a breath—
Tell me, do you know what weird poisonous stuff just went in?
Breathing kills.

Soon, we’ll be running out on resources,
And at that point,
No more TVs, computers,
Handphones,
And what-nots that needs the electricity.

All right, let’s not think that much
We’ll all going to die soon, anyway.
With global warming unheeded,
We’ll have natural disasters coming in like the bills,
One titanic one after the other.

So, I’m really worried.
And you can’t help but wonder, I’m sure,
The most dangerous animal that ever came?
I’ll answer that; actually, I think I have.
Carnivores do kill other animals,
But hey, look at us;
We seem to be killing everyone.
