Gov't failed to resolve structural societal issues: PM
0 Views • Aug 21, 2018
Description
The government failed to resolve the country's chronic societal problems, which have further deteriorated this year.
That's coming from Seoul's Prime Minister while addressing a parliamentary committee on budget and accounts.
He pointed out, despite efforts to effectively manage last year's budget,...the government was unable to improve structural issues including unemployment, income inequality and the low birth-rate.
Lee Nak-yeon said, he felt personally responsible for the lack of progress on these fronts, and invited lawmakers to fire away their questions on how the budget was spent last year.
The PM added, the government will take it as a lesson learned and strive to resolve economic issues.
