Gouda Moon - I wish I could

I wish I could love what you have become after all these
years.
I wish I could get over the things that I know are only in
my head.
I wish you could understand the things I try to explain
to you.
I wish that the things that are important to me were also
to you.
I wish you could visualize how hard it will be to live
apart.
I wish you believed when I told you how close we are to
that.
I wish I could see it your way and forsake my own
ideals.
I wish I knew we would both be happy living separate
lives.
I know I will not be.
