Google Fined $593 Million
Description
The French government fined Google (GOOGL@US) a record $593 million over a breach of a copyright deal. France claimed that the tech giant violated the agreement by not negotiating fair contracts with news publishers regarding the usage of copyrighted content. Shares of Google were trading 0.05% lower at press time on Tuesday morning.
