'God's Quarterback' botches first miracle

Tim Tebow, currently rated as America's favourite athlete, is a devout Christian who along with startling last minute victories for the Denver Broncos has a knack for putting his faith on public display, a practice which has earned him the title 'God's Quarterback'.

'Tebowing' or kneeling in prayer after a touch down, has become a highly emulated trend in the United States and Tebow himself has been praised as a role model by Conservative politicians in the US, but some are put off by his brazen displays of religiosity on the playing field.

The 24-year-old's professions of faith, both on and off the field, may have overshadowed the NFL playoffs, but his prayers couldn't produce a miracle in the Quarterback's latest playoff game against New England. The Tom Brady-led Patriots beat the Broncos 45-10.
