Whether it’s in India or Sudan,Haiti,the Middle East or even Europe – slavery is a current global phenomenon. The US journalist Benjamin Skinner spent five years travelling the world researching his book on human trafficking in the 21st century,and interviewed hundreds of people.He came to a nightmarish conclusion: there have never been as many people living in slavery as there are today,exploited and unpaid. An estimated 27 million of them.
