Glaedr the poet - A Reunion Gone Wrong

A joyful reunion it should have been
Yet we fought and quarreled: NEVER AGAIN!
Too much a friendship so sacred to me
To be ruined by a moments reckless folly
A loving friendship I wish to endure
Never of anything have I been more sure
For your return had inspired this verse
I hope our friendship a blessing: never a curse

This poem was written upon your return
But my heart and I were still left to burn
Never to speak, or hear from you again
Left with memories of what we had then
So I pick up the pieces of my broken heart
It is all I can do to keep from falling apart
With my heart repaired I can stand and say:
I WILL find my true love! ...someday
