Gingrich and Santorum tie for 4th place

Mitt Romney has won a solid victory in the New Hampshire primary.
Leaving Newt Gingrich and Rick Santorum tied in fourth place as the Republican candidates battle for their party's presidential nomination.
Gingrich said he was the most qualified candidate to defeat President Barack Obama.
(SOUNDBITE) REPUBLICAN CANDIDATE NEWT GINGRICH SAYING(English):
"I believe it will take someone who is capable of debating Barack Obama face to face, delivering the conservative message, winning the argument in order to overcome his billion dollar machine."
Former Pennsylvania senator Santorum did not build upon his surprise second place win in Iowa.
(SOUNDBITE) REPUBLICAN CANDIDATE RICK SANTORUM SAYING(English) :
"With faith in the American people, we can not only wipe out this deficit, we can not only rebuild this economy, we can not only have a strong America that stands up for the values that I just talked about but we can do so in a huge victory that will rally this country to take on the great challenges we have before us."
Both Gingrich and Santorum took about 9 percent of the vote.
The next test is the South Carolina primary on January 21st.
This could present a bigger challenge for Romney, who won 39 percent of the vote, as the economy is weaker and conservatives make up a larger slice of the electorate.
