Of the rain the Word has said
To us he giveth in due season
And in the Word i also read
Of his might and of his reason

The rain to water the earth
Our crops he will sustain
Trees planted not in dearth
Rooted firm they will remain

A rich gift from heaven sent
Not because of worthiness
But by divine design meant
To show a creator greatness

And therefore this an ode to thee
Of God's oh blessed rain
A token penned from me
Forever i am your humble swain
