Gilberto Ramirez 🥊 Mexican Champion
Born in Mazatlán, Sinaloa, Ramirez is a Mexican professional boxer and unified Cruiserweight champion who has held the World Boxing Association (WBA) and the World Boxing Organization (WBO) title since 2024. He is a two division world champion, having previously held the WBO Super Middleweight title from 2016 to 2019, and is the first boxer from Mexico to win a major world title in those weight classes. Against Arthur Abraham, RamÃrez put his name in Mexican boxing history, becoming the first fighter to win a super middleweight world title. All three judges scored the fight 120–108 for RamÃrez, who also became only the second Mexican to win a world title in a division heavier than middleweight, the first one having been Julio César González as the WBO light heavyweight champion in 2003. On 30 March 2024, defeated Arsen Goulamirian for the WBA cruiserweight title and then unified against Chris Billam-Smith. His current professional record stands at 48-1 (30 KO's) and he is scheduled to face David Benavidez on May 2nd.
