Gilani guilty, no jail time

Pakistan's Prime Minster Yusuf Raza Gilani was found guilty of contempt of court Thursday after refusing to reopen corruption cases against the president.

Gilani was flanked by cabinet members and supporters who showered him with rose petals as he walked towards the court.

A few minutes later, it was all over. Although he was found guilty, the Supreme Court gave him only a symbolic sentence of a few minutes detention inside the court.

Outside, he was met with the same fanfare as he exited.

Gilani was formally charged in February of this year for refusing to ask Swiss authorities to re-open corruption cases against President Asif Ali Zardari.
