Passionate, not sentimental,
Brahms’ music models shapes
I follow without fear of dental
repercussions from its grapes.
It sets my teeth on edge sans surfeit
of sweetness that’s romantic,
and make me feel that I deserve it
enfranchised, free and far from frantic.
