Germany rejects U.S. call to join Gulf taskforce

Germany has rejected a U.S. request for Berlin to send warships to secure maritime traffic in the Strait of Hormuz.
Washington recently asked its allies to participate in a mission to protect tankers from seizure by Iranian forces.
Germany reportedly appeared cool but on Wednesday, they had commented publically that they will not take part in the operations..
Germany said their participation would only contribute to intensifying tension with Iran and they intend to do the opposite.
