German rail travellers warned of 'exploding' ticket machines

Rail travellers in Germany are being warned to be careful of exploding ticket machines.

Bomb experts were called to a platform near Frankfurt and the station was evacuated.

Thieves have tried to steal cash by taping over openings, filling the machines with gas and setting them alight.

But several attempts have failed, leaving the explosive gas inside.
