Gaza Prisoners Set Free

Late Tuesday morning 29 Palestinian prisoners were released to Gaza, after a 24 hour delay, completing Israel's gesture to the Palestinian Authority on the occasion of Ramadan. A Reuters photographer was wounded by IDF gunfire when he ignored soldeirs' warnings not to approach the security fence. On Monday a letter written by Chief of General Staff Gabi Ashkenazi to the government echelon revealed that he opposed the prisoner release in Gaza for as long as IDF soldier Gilad Schalit remains captive in the Gaza Strip.10/02/07
