Is there a soul’s iridescence
Taking on the hue of this world,
Reflecting it back
In resolute affirmation,
Without proof, doubt, or theory,
Leaping and leaving itself behind
In a question, in a promise—
Its former fire, for someone else
To ask and decide, to see and admire?

Is there a soul’s evanescence
Vanishing colorless in the cold,
Blending now into oblivion?
Its goodness abandoned,
Hope betrayed, does it die
Fragile as a myth held
Too tightly until today?
Does it leap and leave it all behind;
Leap and leave it all behind?
