it's funny how things change
how the worries of yesterday
are left strewn across the remains
of this battlefield that we call home

it's funny how moments
big, explosive, lifechanging moments
can be forgotten
can be overlooked
in the wake of something lifethreatening

it's funny how the people you once trusted
the ones that are truly trustworthy
can be left behind the the blink of an eye
and that this double crossing can easily be done
' for the greater good '

it's funny how easy men become dogs
and women fall back to their serpent like tendancies
how easy it is to become everything you once hated
all in the blink of an eye
all for the greater good

but i've always had a twisted sense of humor
