Contrairement au désastreux Opération Anchorage, The Pitt est une extension dans laquelle on retrouve à l'identique le gameplay de Fallout 3. Nouveaux environnements (la ville de Pittsburgh), nouvelles armes (parmi lesquelles l'auto-hache) et nouveaux ennemis (les Trogs !) sont au programme d'une aventure sans doute un peu brève mais qui se laisse suivre sans déplaisir.
